Matt Van Der Bosch is in his fourth year with the Mudhens, and is a first year assistant manager with the team.
In his first year, Matt helped lead the Mudhens to the 2007 Class B State title. Matt was named the MVP of the 2007 Class B state tournement, finishing 10-for-22 with two home runs and seven runs scored. Matt was a 2000 graduate from Hastings High School. He was a three time all conference selection, all state honorable mention as a junior, and nabbed all state honors as a senior. He helped to lead Hastings to the 1999 class 2A state title.
Matt went on to play 2 years with Yavapai College in Prescott, Az. There he was named to the all conference team twice. And was honored with NJCAA 2nd team all american nomination.
Matt transfered to Oral Roberts University as a junior. There he was a two time all conference selection, a 2nd team Division I all american, and was named his conference's player of the year as a senior. His senior year he helped his squad finish with a 12th NCAA ranking while batting .383 with 94 runs scored and 44 stolen bases.
Matt was then drafted in the 9th round by the Boston Red Sox. He played in the organization for 4 seasons. In 2004 he was named the Red Sox Minor League Player of the Year while playing with Lowell. In 2006 he helped AA Portland win the Eastern League title.
Matt currently lives in Hastings and is a wireless consultant for Mobile-Link Wireless.
