MUDHENS STATE CHAMPIONS
Miesville Mudhens won their 5th state championship after beating the Austin Blue Sox 11-3 on Monday. Miesville finished the state tournament as the only team without a loss at 5-0. Miesville scored 33 runs while only allowing 8 in the five games on their way to the state championship. Chris Olean was 3-0 on the mound for the Mudhens, while centerfielder Matt Vanderbosch was named tournament MVP. Also receiving honors were all-tournament selections of Chris Olean, Matt Vanderbosch, Garet Retka, and Jimmy Bombach (draftee Red Wing). The Miesville players and coaches would like to thank all the people that helped support this team in 2007.
